Macarthur Centre for Sustainable Living

The Macarthur Centre for Sustainable Living (MCSL, the Centre) is a not-for-profit, community-focused organisation that aspires to be a world-class educational facility and model for the promotion of sustainable technology and practices in homes, urban precincts and businesses.

The Centre aims to display and demonstrate alternative energy production and use, waste-water recycling, water and energy efficiency, waste avoidance and green space management. Roam the Centre and see the many projects that build social capacity and empower individuals to embrace sustainable lifestyles.

Let the kids play in the Little Explorers Garden or visit Lulu the Pig, Belle the Darma Sheep and see the different varieties of chooks they have on site. Bring a picnic and stay.

The Centre is just the spot for your next special function or event. They have three main areas for hire – the Kingfisher Room, the Currawong Room and the Marquee Grounds. There is also a fully equipped commercial kitchen plus outdoor covered area. The venues are do-it yourself venues. You hire the room or area and organise the event yourself.

Some of the wonderful features of the venues are:

  • natural light
  • building with natural and sustainable features
  • excellent car park
  • links to public transport
  • natural setting with views
  • low carbon footprint venue
  • bring in your preferred caterer

As you walk around the grounds of the Centre you’ll feel a sense of peace and tranquillity as you breathe in the fresh air and enjoy being surrounded by open spaces, natural creeks and vegetation. Close to everywhere, but worlds apart. Contact the Centre now for more information or to make a booking.
