The Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan

The Australian Botanic Gardens is a gorgeous location set on over 400 hectares of natural woodland, stunning gardens and open spaces. The garden is part of the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust, which is also responsible for the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney and the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden at Mount Tomah.

There’s always something to do at the Gardens:

  • Enjoy the many themed gardens, such as the Connections, Wattle and What’s the Big Idea
  • Spot the amazing wildlife including wallaroos, frogs, lizards and an abundance of birds.
  • Visit the Bird Hide on Lake Nadungamba to witness the spectacular bird life.
  • Pack a picnic and utilise the many BBQ and picnic facilities
  • Grab some takeaway food and beverages from the food truck
  • Spend hours in the Children’s Playground
  • Stretch your legs on over 20 kilometres of walking paths and trails.
  • Take your mountain bike along one of the dedicated Garden MTB trails
  • Marvel at the interactive sculptures, such as the Sundial of Human Involvement and the Federation Flower Maze

The Gardens are also home to The Australian PlantBank, an internationally significant scientific research facility. As well as a Visitor Centre featuring a gift shop and plant nursery. Unfortunately both facilities are closed due to Covid-19 restrictions. Please check the Gardens website for the most up to date information.

Entry to the Gardens is free and they are open year round 8am – 5pm, excluding Summer which is open 8am – 7pm.
